Here is another #AWEsomeGod story from this week!
I wanted to tell you thanks for you help with a difficult situation I’ve been dealing with over the last couple of weeks. A Bible reading in church from a couple of weeks ago was extremely helpful. You see, there were two leaders in a community organization where I volunteer who have very strong personalities. At a meeting the two of them had a rather loud argument that ending with one of them quitting. I knew this was a mistake and, as a leader myself, needed to try to take control of this situation.
That next Sunday, while I was trying to figure out what to do, you were telling us about 1 Peter 3:8-9.
“Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.”
My wife & I stopped and looked at one another. It was like this passage was for my specific situation. I stumbled through trying to calm things down and get these two people to talk things out. I used this quote in an email I sent and I think it helped. Long story short the two people settled things, the one individual who quit has decided to stay and I was thanked for my leadership and wisdom in the face of this challenging situation. It was your sermon and this passage that really helped me.”
God’s Word is faithful yesterday, today, and tomorrow!
To Him be the Glory!
